Course Overview
This five-day course equips managers to make sound financial decisions that create value. It covers the core of corporate finance, from investment appraisal and the cost of capital to working capital, financing and valuation, and frames each within the wider goal of financial strategy. Participants leave able to evaluate investments, manage capital and risk, and contribute confidently to the financial decisions that shape an organisation's future.
Introduction
Every significant decision an organisation makes is, in the end, a financial decision. Which project to fund, how to finance it, how much cash to hold, what a business is worth: these choices determine whether value is created or quietly destroyed. Yet many capable managers were never given the financial tools to make them well, and so defer to instinct or to whoever argues hardest.
This course provides those tools. It builds from the goal of financial management through investment appraisal, the cost of capital, financing decisions, working capital and valuation, and connects them into a coherent financial strategy. The emphasis throughout is on decision making: not just calculating a number, but understanding what it means and how to act on it.
Participants leave able to appraise an investment, weigh financing options, manage capital and risk, and value a business or project, and to bring that financial discipline to the strategic conversations where decisions are really made.
