This five-day course equips HR, people management and organisational leaders to design and implement diversity, equity and inclusion practice across recruitment, policy, culture and measurement. It covers the frameworks, legal and regulatory context, and the practical tools needed to move DEI from a stated value to a working organisational practice.
Diversity, equity and inclusion is widely endorsed and inconsistently practised. Most organisations can produce a policy statement, but far fewer can show that recruitment, promotion, pay and day-to-day decision-making actually reflect it, and the gap between stated commitment and lived practice is usually where DEI initiatives lose credibility with staff.
This course focuses on the practical mechanics of DEI: auditing where bias enters decisions, designing policy and process that closes the gap, and building the measurement systems that show whether progress is real rather than assumed. Participants leave with tools they can apply immediately, not a values statement to circulate.
The course addresses DEI within the specific labour, legal and cultural context of African organisations, ethnic, regional, religious, gender, disability and generational dimensions of diversity, and the regulatory environments across different African markets, rather than importing a single Western corporate DEI template unchanged.
