This executive programme equips investment and finance professionals with the advanced knowledge and practical skills required to value mining companies across the exploration, development and production lifecycle for financial reporting, investment decision-making and strategic transactions. Participants examine internationally recognised valuation methodologies, mining-specific financial modelling, IFRS, geological reporting frameworks, ESG, AI applications and emerging trends influencing mining valuations through case studies and practical exercises.
Mining company valuation combines corporate finance with geology, mining engineering, commodity economics and financial reporting. Unlike conventional businesses, mining companies derive value from finite mineral resources whose economic potential depends on technical uncertainty, commodity prices, operational performance and environmental obligations.
This programme develops advanced capability in valuation across the mining lifecycle while meeting the expectations of listed entities, investors and regulators. It integrates valuation methodologies, fair value measurement, impairment testing, ESG, AI-enabled valuation tools and governance to support high-quality financial reporting and investment decisions.
By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

Practical Session: Conduct a fair value assessment, perform an impairment review and prepare valuation documentation suitable for audit and board reporting.

At Strategic Revenue Africa, our certification goes beyond proof of attendance—it represents practical competence and measurable capability. Upon successful completion of our training programs, participants are awarded a Certificate of Completion from Strategic Revenue Africa, recognizing their ability to apply acquired knowledge in real-world settings. As an organization focused on architecting sustainable revenue and strengthening organizational performance, our certifications signal that participants are equipped with skills that drive results, not just theory.
Participants are expected to have a foundational understanding of finance, accounting, investment analysis or the mining industry. Prior experience in corporate finance, financial reporting, valuation, investment management, mining operations or related disciplines will be beneficial. While advanced technical expertise in mining is not mandatory, familiarity with financial statements, basic valuation concepts and Microsoft Excel will enable participants to maximise the practical modelling and case study components of the programme. Participants are encouraged to bring laptops with Microsoft Excel installed for the hands-on valuation exercises.
